Since I forgot to take pictures of both the things I made for the craft fair, as well as the booth, I made a mental note to take some pictures of the things I've made for this weekends fair. I won't actually be attending. Mom, Gary, Mike, Violet and I are heading out to the Pirate Fest in Wentzville, MO. But Christine, the sweetheart that she is, said she'd take anything I made and sell it for me. This is a jewelry specific show so here are some of the things I've made so far. If I don't sell them this weekend, I'm going to put them on Etsy.

Strange Folk Festival
Yesterday, was the Strange Folk Festival. I went and shared a booth with Christine and Dawn. It was hot, but the turn out was awesome. I didn't really make many things, and still managed to make about $50. I got a sunburn too, but thats my fault for not wearing any sunscreen... but to be honest it didn't really cross my mind that I would need sun screen at the end of September. Autumn (the director) announced that it's going to be a 2 day event next year. That will be fun. Christine has invited me to be in another show with her in November in Granite City, so I'm going to start making stuff for that too. Wish me luck!

Craft Show
Its crunch time now. Last year, my friend Christine and I did a indie craft show called Strange Folk, and we're doing it again this year. Last year went ok, it was rainy and cold though so the crowd was small. This year though it's bigger (and hopefully better) and I think there are around 72 vendors from about 12 different states! Anywho, so now I have to stay up later and make crafty stuff to sell. It's a month away [September 22nd] so I still have time. I'm not going to make any jewelry though. I'm making some stuffed dolls/animals, some reconstructed baby clothes (decorative onsies) and baby headbands & bows. Most things are still in my head so I must get working!!

Once upon a time...
Welcome to Faerie Cakes! I wanted a site for my creative output. I have a bunch of ideas for purses, dolls, and a few quilt ideas too. I found this awesome site called Etsy.com where you can buy and sell just about anything handmade. It's like eBay for crafts!
This is a knitted bunny I have started for Violet. The pattern is from Knitted Toys by Zoe Mellor. You can't tell from the picture, but the yarn has a mettalic ply running through it. Oh so pretty! Thus far I have the body and most of the head done.
These are the wall letters I decorated for Violet's room. I used scrapbook paper for each letter and distressed and inked the edges. I love the way the O came out so I included a close up of it. Hope you like them!
And lastly, these are a few shots of flowers that are blooming in my huble garden. The first is a 'Limelight' Hydrangea and the second is Sweet William, either that or Soapwart. I can't tell and I know I planted them near each other.
